Radio, Parkrun and 20 more miles!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. First of all what can I say apart from WOW! and thank you to everyone that has read my blog this week, 330 views at the time of writing. That number is higher than I could every have imagined and now makes me even more nervous about writing about my week. I have to admit that I am competitive so now we have hit 330 views lets go for more, do you think we could make 350 this week? Please share, share, share! on all the social media outlets about my challenge, tell anyone that will listen and let's keep that number of readers rising. This will hopefully lead to more and more donations to help Jessie May support families with terminally ill children. The total raised stands at £752 which is 25% of my £3000 target. It's been a quiet week for donations but hopefully this will pick up. We have only moved for 1% in a week but we are heading in the right direction. If you feel you can donate even a small amount it will make such a difference to th

A late Blog, A Wedding and 20 miles

Hi All, Hope everyone has had a good week? Sorry that I am late in getting this out to you but life just got in the way this weekend, in a good way 😀 I am currently trying to write this whilst watching England play footie, listen to how my wife's day has been and eat my tea all at the same time! So last week I wanted to try to reach 100 readers for this blog. The total number of readers for last weeks blog was 92, Guys we were so close!!!! Welcome to the new readers and don't forget to go back and check out previous installments.  I have been keeping a cheeky eye on how many times the post gets shared from the Jessie May Facebook page and if i'm honest it isn't very much and we are still reaching numbers in the 90's. Think of the numbers we could get this to if even half of you shared the post on your wall and on other social media.  Please this week can I ask that after reading you share this blog on your news feed for friends and family to read. It literally

Storms, Targets and Intervals

Hi everyone hope you are all ok, I have started to get a bit nervous writing this blog now as I know that people actually read it and not like when I first started. Last weeks blog was read by 86 people and I want to thank you all for taking time to read about my journey.  No w I know that 86 people is  not ground breaking numbers and this blog isn't going to become an internet sensation but to me that's a lot of people. I certainly wouldn't get up in front of 86 people and read this out loud! Saying that tho  I would love it if this weeks blog hit 100 readers.  I am going to need each and everyone of you to help me with this. After you have read this weeks installment  can you go back to the Jessie May Facebook page and share the link you followed to your friends. This will mean not only more people will see the link and possibly read my blog but hopefully more donations to an amazing charity.  Talking of donations, The Different a Day makes fundraising total now stand

Rain, Rain go away!

Hi all SS Great Britain on our 18 mile run  I hope you all have had a good week and if you are a runner, have you been soaked as many times as I have this week? 4 out of my 5 runs this week I have been soaked through. I hear the weather isn't getting much better for next week either. So this week I also got new pair of trainers, thank you my mum and dad 😀. Now first of all I like getting new running trainers as much as the next person but every runner will tell you a new pair of trainers comes with a whole host of worries. Will they be comfortable, will they give me blisters, will they just tear my feet to shreds and much more. I choose the same make just a newer version so I was hopeful that none of the above would happen, more on this later. The fundraising total has now broken the £500 mark but there is still a very long way to go! If you feel you can donate please visit my Virgin Money Giving page here . to put this into perspective with this amount we would cover almo

Mental battles and a hen do!

Hi all,  I hope you are all well, this week has been a hard week of training mainly because I have found it hard to get out there and run. I have had a couple of big mental battles with myself this week and I am happy to say I have managed to win them. We don't always want to get out there and run but you have to remember why you are running in the first place. It could be for charity, it could be to improve your health or it could be just because you enjoy it (not sure how many people fit into this category). We all face these mental battles when we are training but if we can win them, get those miles in your legs, you will feel so much better for it after, I certainly do. If you don't manage to get out there, that's ok as well. If this happens to me I always try to remember the miles I haven't managed to run and add them to my next week of training.  Donations have been coming in again this week, The Difference a Day Makes campaign total stands at £452.
